After many years' recovery from social disarray and economic collapse, up to reign of Emperor Hanwudi , the centralization governing was further consolidated and the social and economic development was also noticeable, which made the possibility for connecting or opening the international exchange. In 139BC, Zhang Qian led a team with more than 100 set out, but beyond expectation, they were attacked suddenly by Hun's riding troops and they were captured and sent to the center of Hun. They underwent house arrest for 10 years. Time elapsed but they never gave up their mission. In 129 BC, they fled and moved on west-wardly. However, they got nothing when arrived in the targeted destination. Later they came back but delayed one more year because they were captured by Hun once again. And finally he returned homeland successfully in 126 BC.
In 119, Zhang Qian revisited west area once again when Hun was defeated three times by Han troops. Zhang Qin smoothly arrived in destination. Amid this tour, he connected many countries and opened the governmental relationships. From then on, this historic and influential Silk Road connecting China and other countries together opened and enhanced the cultural and economic exchange.
