Xian Stele Forest Museum located on No.15 Sanxue Street of Xian is a themed museum collecting, researching and displaying the stele inscriptions, stone-carved calligraphic masterpiece, and autographic record carved in tombs and stone carvings. Xian Stele Forest Museum boasts Chinese Largest Stone-based Bookstore. This Museum based on original Xian Stele Forest which has more than 900 years of history and relied on the ancient architectural complex of Xian Confucius Temple was extended in 1944. The whole layout of the architecture is simple but traditional. In 1961, this museum was listed National Cultural Site under State-Level Protection, and also one of Chinese 18 national-level special tourist attractions. Xian Stele Forest Museum currently gathers more than 11,000 collections. Among them, 19 collections belong to national treasures, and 272 collections are top class. The key reserved collections are the famous calligraphic masterpieces of ancient China as well as the marvelous sculptures made in Han and Tang Dynasties.
